Seperation of Church and Everything

After Colombine, after 9/11, after space shuttle disasters, after the Indian Ocean tsunami, after Katrina, after the Virginia Tech shootings, after any sort of public disaster and fatal incident you can count on hearing one statement over and over again, "Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families of..."

Where are all these thoughts and prayers on all the days that disaster isnt taking place?

It seems like the other 51 weeks out of the year, our media, music and tv shows are trying to convince us that NO ONE is praying, although the thinking part... Everywhere you turn you've got some liberal fighting to have everything from the ten commandments in government buildings to school prayer removed entirely and the once Easter Break traded out for a "Spring Break", the very mention of "Merry Christmas" from a retailer is sometimes all some of these nuts need to throw a lawsuit.

Slobs out there like Rosie Odonnel (thanks Trump ;)) are on tv daily, pumping bored sponges of housewives, most likely with children, that Christianity is a bad thing. These women then delegate these thoughts to their children. Is there any wonder why we've got teenagers and the like with a desire to take people, along with themselves out?? When you've got no trace of God in your life or dispise Him, of course you're gonna be bitter and live a miserable existance, I dont care what kind of facade you put out or how hard you mask it with cynicism, down at your core, you're a shell.

I read on some nut's web page somewhere a while back that the America was a bad place and gave this as a reason: That the US is trying to help Israel become an expanded empire so Jesus will come back. Or something to that effect, but their intended point (which I'm sure more than a few liberals lapped up) was that Christians are all a bunch of kool-aid drinking sheep who are going to kill us all. This was a slanded intended to make people think that Christians are engaged in this sort of jihad that muslims are and that we also want to kill people or something idiotic. Just to throw it out - Jesus isnt coming back to a world of Christians, Israel isnt going to be a huge empire, in fact, this person trying to convince others to loathe and even turn away from Christianity is facilitating the apocalypse by default.

What I dont get, actually I do having read Revelation, but these same people that slander Christians dont seem to mind that Iranian president, Mahmud ahmadi-nejad has admitted to his people and is funding the end of the world according to Islam...do these people care about that? No...of course not!

But, when there's that national disaster or some huge incident, we hear about everyone turning to God, Jesus for help. Of course they do! Because in these situations, liberals and Hollywood arent the center of attention. These stories put REAL people center stage. REAL people believe in God. REAL people arent who we're accustomed to seeing and hearing on a daily basis. We're used to hearing from a select, very vocal few dingbats out there who are both attention starved and trying to convince everyone that Christianity is for yesteryear, it's a dinosaur, it's out of style.

Just watch, wiccan, the worship of the planet, is going to become the unofficial world religion, centered around global warming. I've already heard Algore referenced to as a prophet.

blah, nobody listens

-------------------------------------------------------------

I just got Arcade Fire's Neon Bible today. It's growing on me. I dont care for the version of "No Cars Go" on this album as compared to the original version. It sounds like how you play a song that you know so well and have played so many times that you play it faster and have unconciously changed it a bit. I know this from playing the same songs over and over myself.

"New Earth?" I dont buy this garbage

"It's got the same climate as Earth, plus water and gravity. A newly discovered planet is the most stunning evidence that life - just like us - might be out there. "

"As Seth Shostak says: "We've never found one close to being like the Earth until now. We are finding that Earth is not such an unusual puppy in the litter of planets."

Ok, these people are talking about a "planet" outside of our solar system that has been titled, Gliese 581. It is said this planet has temperatures like ours, and has the potential to hold liquid water. It orbits a star, which it it's sun.

Ok, I'll buy that there's something out there orbiting a star, but the rest...I'm sorry. Here's just a little example;

The on-again/off-again planet in our solar system, Pluto, has been observed for years. However, THESE are the typical images we have of Pluto:

...do you see where I'm coming from here? There's the two glowing balls, one Pluto, one its moon, Charon. The others are a bunch of dots, usually with a graphic pointing out which one's Pluto, which is 2.66 billion miles from Earth.

So, when I see these images of Pluto and then hear about a planet 210 trillion miles away (Gliese 581), and hear about how they're talking about and getting people excited about it capabilities...I'm sorry, no. Look at those pictures of Pluto, now imagine 80 thousand times as far away...imagine the speck they're looking at, literally, the period that will end this sentence might be a good idea.

These people have no clue what they're talking about. But hey, whatever gets funding headed their way I suppose.

I'm no astronomer, but that's just my take on this.
